Mix all the ingredients properly, you can drizzle a little water to the mixture to coat the chicken pieces evenly.Once done, refrigerate the chicken for 1-2 hours.

Prepare chilli chicken masala

Take out the marinade after 1-2 hours. Heat oil in a deep pan over a high flame. Dip the chilli chicken in the cornflour batter. This will make them crispy as well as more appealing. Carefully place the chicken pieces in the oil until cooked through. Remove and drain excess oil on an absorbent paper. Meanwhile, heat 1 or 2 tbsps of oil in a separate pan over moderate flame. Once the oil is sufficiently hot, add the onions and fry for 2-3 minutes till they turn translucent. Then add the green chilies and mix well again. One can also add some dry roasted green chilies to accentuate the taste. Also add some vinegar soaked green chilies to this recipe, as it adds on to the taste and flavour. Add soya sauce, vinegar, chicken and salt. Use Kashmiri red chilli powder or degi mirch. This would add the much-required colour without making it spicier. Mix all the ingredients well and make sure that the chicken is well coated with the sauces. Keep stirring so that the chicken does not stick to the pan. remove and transfer the dish to a bowl. Garnish with the spring onions and roasted sesame.
