Ingredients


Eggs- 2
Caster sugar- 1 cup
Vanilla extract- 1/2 tsp
Butter- 1/2 cup
All purpose flour- 1 cup
Baking powder- 1 tsp
salt- A pinch of
Milk- 1/3 cup

Preparation


Preheat the oven to 180° C
Greasing the cake pan
Take a cake pan of any shape as you like and grease all around the pan with oil or butter and Place a baking paper at the base of the greased pan.
Make batter for the cake
Take sugar and butter together in a mixing bowl and whisk for about 3 to 5 minutes or until it becomes light and fluffy.
Add two eggs in this sugar and butter mixture along with the vanilla essence and whisk until combined.
Add flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt to the batter.
Mix and fold the batter using a wooden spoon or spatula so that no lumps remain there.
Gradually add milk and mix the batter well.
Consistency of the batter should be slightly thick, so take care of the consistency while adding milk.
Now take the greased cake pan you have greased before and pour the batter into the pan.
To remove any air bubbles from the batter,Pat the cake pan few times.
Place the cake inside the oven and bake the cake for 40 to 45 minutes.
Insert a tooth pick into the cake to check it.If the tooth pick comes out clean, then your cake is ready other wise bake it for some times more.
If the tooth pick comes out clean then take the cake pan out carefully and allow it to cool down.
